Hi all,

Next week we will begin the “Ways of Hearing” unit of the course. Here’s what I would like you to do:

Read:

• They Say/I Say, “Chapter 3: ‘As He Himself Puts It’: The Art of Quoting”
• “The Soundscape” by R. Murray Schafer
  
• We will be visiting the library in the second half of the course. If there’s time we will listen to Ways of Hearing, “Episode 2: Space” in class. If there isn’t time, I’ll ask you to listen to this on your own. 
• We will also discuss your second paper.

Don’t forget to finalize your revisions of Paper #1. I will grade whatever version of the paper is in the Google Drive folder by Tuesday.
